In this video clip  Dennis explains a little as to how and why we baptise people. This is a 3 minute video extract from a sermon given at the Baptismal Service held at 6.30pm one Autumn evening in our Mount Street premises.

Introductory message for 2009~

Psalm 37:5 might make a good text for 2009 “Commit your way to the LORD. Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass.” Observant readers will note this is just one verse from the text with which we began last year.

In many ways 2009 begins gloomily. Internationally things are heating up again in the Middle East. There isn’t going to be a quick fix in Gaza. Even though the Israelis began their action in self defence following eight years of unprovoked rocket attacks, most of the world still seems blind to that fact.

At home there is much uncertainly regarding the economy. This is causing fear of future hardship regarding work, pensions, house building, banking and retailing.

Within our fellowship there are challenges we face which I have written about elsewhere.

These things do not catch the Lord out! The message of Psalm 37 is to maintain patience in the midst of uncertainty and in the light of the apparent success of the wicked. God’s people will maintain trust in the Lord. Our eternal reward will abundantly surpass any troubles in the present. Our Saviour has promised to give us peace which passes all understanding.

May the Lord bless and encourage us all in 2009. May our faith in Him grow more and more.
