Dennis Nolan has been pastor at Battle Baptist Church since 1981. He teaches and models the importance of team ministry and works with elders and deacons as well as other full & part time time staff and many enthusiastic volunteers.

In this video clip Dennis explains a little as to how and why we baptise people. This is a 3 minute video extract from a sermon given at the Baptismal Service held at 6.30pm one Autumn evening in our Mount Street premises.

Message for 2010~

As I enter my 30^th year as Pastor at Battle Baptist I can look back and thank the Lord that He has done what he said He would do. He took what was a little country chapel and began to impact it by the power of his Holy Spirit. He began to draw people together for worship. From my first Sunday morning in 1981 when there were 26 present including the children the numbers attending have grown. The church has expanded in numbers and in the number of congregations. Today on a typical Sunday there are four opportunities for congregational worship.

As you browse around the website you’ll see some of the other things we’re involved in but please don’t think this is a big impersonal church.

Battle is only a small place with around 7000 inhabitants. It’s an easy place in which to make friends and Battle Baptist remains a little church with a big vision. We’d like to have some sort of spiritual impact on 1000 lives each week. Probably at least 600 people a week already come through our doors for one reason or another, whether it’s for worship, preschool, lunch club, the Spanish group or something else.

Our congregations all have room for more and it’s easy to come and be known and get to know others. There’s opportunity here to develop and use the gifts God has given you. Our midweek groups for prayer and bible study are really important to us as we enjoy coming together to share what the Lord has done.
