Battle Baptist Church tithes its income to outside mission groups and gives a generous gift each month to help BMS World Mission.

As a local church we have links in the following parts of the world......

Middle East (Israel & surrounding area)

Derek White made his 69th visit to in March 2009 with John Southam~ this was to encourage Messianic believers, Israeli Arab believers and Palestinian believers. We also hope to begin to deepen this link between these believers and the church here in Battle and for a greater understanding of our roots.

Hong Kong ~

Pete and Sue Spiers left Battle some years ago to work at the home of Loving Faithfulness in Hong Kong.  From time to time members of the church visit them to encourage them. You can find out more about this work on the internet at http://www.holf.org.hk/. Pete also chairs the diaconate at a Hong Kong Baptist Church.

Romania -

We have enjoyed fellowship with Romanian Christians since 1987. Today we particularly enjoy a close link with a small church in Ghimbav - the pastor & his wife are Mihai & Elena. Recent very good news has been received regarding the inspection of their pre-school by the authorities. We have enabled them to carry out practical improvements to their premises. This continues to be a very "live" relationship whromanian kindergarten.JPG (78730 bytes)ere many of church members have visited and remain in regular contact with the church in Romania.  This is a picture of the kindergarten in action! In June 2007 they were our guests on a brief visit to Battle. (see our work party photo album)

Asia -

Two of our members, Steve and Rita, are currently enjoying language studies in their work with BMS in a sensitive location where it is difficult, even dangerous, to be a Christian.

Nigeria -

Dennis Nolan has visited Nigeria many times since 1987. We have enjoyed close links with Gabriel and Gracefilled Uche, Abuja, for many years . In the spring of 2004 two members of our church visited Nigeria  to investigate further the possibility of installing a borehole.   In Sept 2004 a Nigerian student spent a month with the church in Battle, which proved so successful we repeated this during 2008.

The most recent visit by church members was in November 2005 when six people went to do some practical repair work on the District House in Abuja.

Spanish links -

We have established a Spanish speaking group in the church  to help facilitate future mission with Spanish speaking areas of the world. In 2008 Francis Willoughby  visited churches in the Canary Islands preaching in Baptist, Pentecostal and Anglican Churches. Pastor Pedro Angel paid a return visit to us in February 2008. We are currently helping fund a pastor in the islands' churches.
